Stuart McIver is a graduate of the University of Houston where he received his O.D. degree, magna cum laude in 1993. He graduated with a B.S. degree in general science from the University of Waterloo in 1989. A native of Western
Canada, he came down to the University of Houston to study optometry where he met his wife, Dr. Liliana Betancourt. He has two preteen children who keep him occupied and “out of trouble”. Stuart along with his wife purchased Pines Vision Care in 1998 and have been serving the community of West Pembroke Pines ever since. Stuart enjoys reading, history, philosophy, and physical fitness.
Liliana Betancourt is originally from Cali, Colombia. She moved to the South Florida area when she was a teenager and graduated from Killian High School. She first studied at Miami Dade College, and from there went on to complete here education at the University of Houston where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1993. She has since gone on to become a partner in Pines Vision Care, raise two children, and is currently an associate professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. Liliana enjoys cooking, physical fitness, and is dedicated to raising her two children.
